It is raining so I decided to this cook for my hubby the tinolang manok or (chicken ginger stew) This recipe is a dish that is easy to cook. Enjoy! Tinola Manok Ingredients: 1 kilo whole chicken, cut into pieces. 1 small young papaya or sayote, cut into small pieces. 2 tablespoons ginger, crushed and slliced into strips 1/2 cup dahon ng sili (chili leaves) or mallunggay leaves 1 liter of water 5 garlic cloves, minced 1 red onion, diced 4 tablespoons oil 2 tablespoons patis (fish sauce) Tinolang Manok Cooking Instructions: In a stock pot, heat oil and sauté garlic, onion and ginger. Sauté the chicken then add the water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 20 minutes or until chicken is almost done. Season with patis Add papaya and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes or until papaya softens but not overcooked. Add sili leaves then turn off the heat. Serve steaming hot on a bowl with plain rice on the side.
The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) said it has created a fact-finding committee to investigate reports of a gang rape of a student by 15 fellow students as part of an initiation into an underground fraternity. The alleged gang rape “is a very unfortunate incident, though an isolated one,” the PUP said in a statement. The school said its officials are “grieved” about the incident and are cooperating with the police and the Department of Social Welfare and Development since minors are involved. The school administration assured “all involved that they will be protected in accordance with the law. Legal assistance and financial assistance will likewise be provided to the alleged victim.” The PUP said stricter security measures are being enforced in the campus and officials are closely coordinating with law enforcers.
